HOMOGRAPH

Examples of Homograph

Homographs are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings and, sometimes, different pronunciations. These words may belong to the same part of speech or different parts of speech. The varying meanings can be related or entirely unrelated. Homographs can be tricky for readers and speakers because the context of the sentence is crucial in determining the intended meaning.

Lead (noun) - a heavy metal = Lead (verb) - to guide or show the way, Wind (noun) - moving air = Wind (verb) - to turn or twist something etc are some examples of Homograph.
